New laser imaging aims to spot lung cancer in real time
NCT ID NCT05556525
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study compared a standard lung biopsy procedure (EBUS TBNA) with the same procedure plus a new imaging technique called nCLE, which uses a laser to see tissues in real time. The goal was to see if adding nCLE helps doctors diagnose lung cancer more accurately in people with suspicious lung nodules. Only 3 people took part before the study was stopped early, so results are limited.
