One extra scan could spot hidden cancers in smokers
NCT ID NCT07171190
Summary
This study is testing whether it's practical to add a quick abdominal scan to the existing NHS lung cancer screening program for high-risk smokers. It will see if offering the extra scan affects people's decision to attend screening and if the process can be done without adding too much time. The goal is to find more health issues, like kidney cancer, early in people already coming in for a lung check.
