Could a second drain prevent permanent surgery after brain bleed?
NCT ID NCT06510842
First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at people with a severe type of stroke where bleeding enters the brain's fluid spaces, often requiring a drain. Researchers want to see if adding an extra drain in the lower back, along with the standard head drain, helps patients recover better and avoids the need for a permanent shunt. About 354 adults will take part across multiple hospitals.
