Promising cancer combo trial halted early – what happened?

NCT ID NCT05712356

First seen May 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding an experimental drug called LSTA1 to standard chemotherapy could help people with advanced bile duct or gallbladder cancers. It included 66 adults whose cancer had not been treated before or had gotten worse after first treatment. The trial was stopped early, so results are limited. The main goals were to check safety and see if the combination worked better than standard care alone.
