New study: simple blood test may reveal hidden heart risks after stent surgery
NCT ID NCT07197242
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at whether measuring a substance in the blood called lipoprotein(a) can help predict future heart problems in people who have had a stent placed to open a blocked artery. About 156 adults with stable heart disease will have their blood tested before the procedure and then be followed for up to a year. The goal is to see if higher levels of lipoprotein(a) are linked to a higher chance of heart attack, repeat procedures, or other major heart events.
