Radiation slashed for throat cancer in bold new trial

NCT ID NCT03323463

Summary

This study is testing whether a much lower dose of radiation, combined with standard chemotherapy, works as well as the current high-dose standard for treating HPV-positive throat cancer. It aims to control the cancer while potentially reducing long-term side effects from radiation. The trial is for adults with specific early-stage HPV-positive throat cancer who have not had prior radiation to the head and neck.
