Warm water soaks may help older women control blood pressure
NCT ID NCT03857490
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether regularly warming the lower legs in hot water could help older women with high blood pressure lower their numbers. 134 women aged 60-85 either soaked their legs in warm water (42°C) or neutral water (33°C) four times a week for 8 weeks, while all took a standard blood pressure pill. The goal was to see if adding heat therapy to medication works better than medication alone.
