First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at 170 first-time mothers to see if a higher dose of oxytocin (a medicine to start or speed up labor) leads to faster delivery or changes how the baby is born. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either a low or high starting dose, with increases every 20 minutes. The goal was to find out which dosing approach is more effective and safe for both mother and baby.
