First seen Nov 03, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using lower pressure gas during laparoscopic large bowel surgery can prevent temporary bowel paralysis (postoperative ileus) and help patients recover and leave the hospital sooner. About 125 adults having laparoscopic right colon or sigmoid colon surgery will be randomly assigned to different gas pressure levels and devices. Researchers will track how quickly the gut starts working again, pain levels, and any complications.
