First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at whether doing light aerobic exercise five days a week for a year can improve heart rate variability—a sign of heart health—in adults with type 1 diabetes. Thirty-five participants were split into two groups: one exercised regularly, the other less often. Researchers measured heart rate, fitness, and blood sugar control at the start, six months, and one year.
