First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study compares a new, gentler type of weight-loss surgery (low impact laparoscopy) to the standard method. The goal is to see if using lower gas pressure and smaller cuts reduces pain and helps patients breathe better after surgery. About 128 adults with obesity will be randomly assigned to one of the two procedures. Researchers will measure pain, lung function, and satisfaction up to 3 months after surgery.
