New dialysis fluid aims to reduce sugar burden for kidney patients

Summary
This study is testing whether a new, low-glucose dialysis solution called XyloCore is as effective and safe as standard glucose-based solutions for people with end-stage kidney disease. About 170 patients who perform daily peritoneal dialysis at home will use either the new solution or their usual one for six months. The main goal is to see if the new solution cleans the blood just as well while potentially reducing side effects linked to high sugar exposure.
