First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether low-frequency magnetic pulses aimed at a specific brain region can reduce chronic abdominal pain in people with irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D). 42 adults with IBS-D will receive either real or sham stimulation over two weeks, with neither they nor their doctors knowing which group they are in. The goal is to see if this non-invasive, drug-free approach can safely ease pain and improve quality of life.
