Heart surgery goes green: testing Low-Flow anesthesia
NCT ID NCT07313969
Summary
This study tested whether using a very low flow of anesthesia gas during heart surgery is safe and reduces environmental impact. Researchers compared two gas flow rates in 92 adults having planned heart surgery. The main goal was to see if the low-flow method used less gas and produced fewer emissions without affecting patient safety or the depth of anesthesia.
