Lower dose, fewer side effects: pill cuts breast cancer return by 42%

NCT ID NCT06982313

Summary

This study followed women for nearly 10 years to see if a lower dose of the drug tamoxifen could safely prevent breast cancer from coming back. It involved over 500 women who had a type of early, non-invasive breast cancer or high-risk breast lesions. The results showed the lower dose significantly reduced the risk of new or recurring breast cancer, especially in the opposite breast, without increasing serious side effects.
