Could a Low-Dose opioid blocker ease diabetic nerve pain without the risks?

NCT ID NCT04678895

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether low-dose naltrexone (LDN) can safely reduce pain from diabetic neuropathy. About 35 adults with long-term diabetic nerve pain who haven't found relief from standard treatments will receive either LDN or a placebo. The goal is to see if LDN can be a non-opioid alternative to improve pain and daily function.
