8-Week hormone boost may improve IVF egg count in women with low ovarian reserve

NCT ID NCT07108621

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking a low dose of the hormone hCG for eight weeks before IVF can increase the number of eggs retrieved in women with diminished ovarian reserve. About 80 women aged 18-40 will be randomly assigned to receive either hCG or a placebo before their second IVF cycle. The main goal is to see if hCG priming leads to more eggs collected.
