Doctors test Ultra-Low dye to save limbs and protect kidneys

NCT ID NCT06835127

Summary

This study tested whether using a very small amount of dye during procedures to open blocked leg arteries is safe and effective for patients who also have poor kidney function. The goal was to perform the artery-opening procedure successfully while using as little dye as possible to avoid further harming the kidneys. Researchers observed 18 patients with severe limb ischemia and impaired kidney function to see if this low-dose approach worked.
