Can a Low-Carb diet supercharge your Weight-Loss shot?

NCT ID NCT07280403

Summary

This small, completed pilot study tested whether following a low-carbohydrate, higher-protein diet could help people lose more weight while they were already taking the injectable weight-loss medication semaglutide. For 12 weeks, 60 participants were randomly assigned to follow either the low-carb diet or a low-fat diet while continuing their medication. Researchers measured changes in body weight, body fat, blood sugar, and other health markers to see if one diet worked better alongside the drug.
