Can cutting carbs tame type 1 diabetes in teens? yale study investigates

NCT ID NCT04955691

Summary

This study looked at whether a very low-carbohydrate diet is a safe and effective way for young people with type 1 diabetes to manage their blood sugar. Nineteen teens and young adults tried both a low-carb and a standard diet for two weeks each while researchers tracked their glucose levels and other health markers. The goal was to gather evidence to help doctors give better dietary advice to this growing population.
