New Dual-Pacing strategy could boost heart function in failure patients
NCT ID NCT07664189
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether a new pacing method called LOT-CRT, which paces two areas of the heart at once, works better than standard pacing alone in people with heart failure. Ten patients will each receive a special pacemaker and try both pacing settings for 6 months each. Researchers will compare heart function, symptoms, and quality of life to see which approach is more effective.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemaker (CRT-P) with leads in the left bundle branch area and coronary sinus
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could point toward a more effective pacing strategy to improve heart function and quality of life in heart failure patients.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small pilot study with only 10 patients, so results may not apply to everyone. The crossover design is exploratory, and the approach may not show clear benefits over standard pacing.
