Blood pressure drug trial offers new hope for CF patients
NCT ID NCT03435939
Summary
This small, early-stage study is testing whether losartan, a common blood pressure medication, can help improve mucus clearance in adults with cystic fibrosis who cannot take newer, targeted CFTR therapies. Researchers want to see if reducing inflammation with losartan for 14 weeks helps patients clear mucus from their lungs more effectively. The study will measure mucus clearance, lung function, and markers of inflammation in 16 participants.
