New drug shows promise in shrinking lung tumors before surgery

Summary

This study tests whether the targeted drug lorlatinib can shrink tumors in people with stage III non-small cell lung cancer that has a specific gene change (ALK fusion). About 48 adults will take lorlatinib before possibly having surgery. The main goal is to see if the cancer completely disappears in the removed tissue.
