Higher anxiety drug dose linked to more hospital trips for seniors with kidney issues
NCT ID NCT07179978
Summary
This study looked at whether starting a higher dose of the anxiety/sleep medication lorazepam is riskier than a lower dose for older adults with poor kidney function. Researchers analyzed health records of over 12,000 people aged 66+ in Canada. They compared the chance of being hospitalized, visiting the emergency room, or dying within 30 days of starting the medication.
