Catatonia breakthrough: blood test may predict drug response

NCT ID NCT04530734

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at why some people with catatonia don't get better with the standard medicine lorazepam. Researchers will measure the drug's level in the blood after 3 days of treatment and check for genetic differences that might affect how the body processes the medicine. The goal is to find non-responders early so their treatment can be changed sooner. The study involves 100 adults with catatonia.
