First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested a new metal plate coated with silver to fix broken ankle bones. The goal was to see if it is as safe as the standard uncoated plate and if it can reduce infections. About 200 adults with broken fibulas took part. The results help doctors choose better options for treating these fractures.
