Water vs. air: which colonoscopy technique causes fewer painful loops?
NCT ID NCT07245173
First seen Dec 02, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study compares two common colonoscopy methods—water infusion and air insufflation—to see which one causes fewer loops in the colon. Loops can make the procedure harder, more painful, and longer. About 142 adults getting routine colon cancer screening will be randomly assigned to one method, and reviewers will analyze video recordings to count loops. The goal is to find the technique that improves patient comfort and procedure efficiency.
