New shot could ease brain surgery pain for days

NCT ID NCT07344181

Summary

This study is testing if a new, long-acting numbing medicine works better than the standard one for pain after brain surgery. About 120 patients having planned brain surgery will receive a nerve-block injection with either the new or standard medicine before their operation. The main goal is to see if the new medicine provides better and longer-lasting pain relief in the first three days after surgery, which could help patients use fewer opioid painkillers.
