First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study follows up with 18 people who received umbilical cord stem cell injections for retinitis pigmentosa, an eye disease that causes vision loss. Researchers will check their vision, eye structure, and overall eye health 5 years after the original treatment. The goal is to see if the stem cell transplant is safe over the long term, not to provide new treatment.
