Radioactive drug safety tracked for years in rare cancer patients
NCT ID NCT05017662
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study follows 20 people with neuroendocrine tumors who previously received a radioactive drug called 177Lu-satoreotide tetraxetan. Researchers check for long-term side effects, including new cancers, every 3 months for up to 5 years. The goal is to understand the drug's safety over time, not to test if it works.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
177Lu-satoreotide tetraxetan (a radioactive drug)
What this could lead to
If successful, this study will provide crucial safety data that could support the future use of this treatment for neuroendocrine tumors.
What could go wrong
This is a small, observational follow-up study with only 20 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. It does not test whether the treatment works, only its long-term safety.
