Sleep disorder drug gets extended safety check
NCT ID NCT05458128
Summary
This study followed adults with idiopathic hypersomnia, a rare disorder causing extreme daytime sleepiness, to see how safe and effective the medication pitolisant is over the long term. All 119 participants had already completed a previous pitolisant study and continued taking the drug openly for many months. Researchers tracked side effects and whether the medication continued to help reduce sleepiness and improve daily functioning.
