Young survivors of rare brain disease face hidden Long-Term struggles

NCT ID NCT07158229

Summary

This study aims to understand the long-term social and psychological challenges faced by young adults who have recovered from the acute phase of a rare autoimmune brain disease called NMDA receptor encephalitis. Researchers will survey 30 adult patients to measure their quality of life, fatigue, anxiety, depression, and sleep quality after their initial illness. The goal is to gather essential information to improve future support for survivors, as the lasting impact on their daily lives, education, and careers is not well understood.
