HIV study tracks Early-Treated kids for clues to remission

NCT ID NCT05154513

First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study followed 163 children who started HIV treatment within 12 weeks of birth to track their health, growth, and immune system over about seven years. Researchers measured weight, height, CD4 counts, and virus levels to build a detailed picture of long-term outcomes. No new treatments were given—the goal was to gather data that could help design future studies aimed at HIV remission or cure.
