First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at the long-term effects of taking a low dose of tamoxifen (5 mg daily for 3 years) to prevent breast cancer from coming back in women who had early-stage breast changes or very small tumors. Researchers will follow about 1,500 women for many years to see how well the drug works and if it remains safe. The goal is to confirm that this gentler treatment can be a good option for preventing invasive breast cancer.
