New 3-Day numbing shot could cut opioid use after surgery

NCT ID NCT07458282

Summary

This study is testing a new, long-acting numbing medicine for pain relief after common keyhole abdominal surgeries like gallbladder removal. Researchers want to see if a single injection of this slow-release medicine, given during surgery, can provide better and longer pain control than standard numbing shots. The goal is to help patients recover more comfortably with less need for strong opioid painkillers after their operation.
