One-shot pain relief tested for post-surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT02468128

Summary

This study tested whether a single, long-acting pain injection given before surgery could help manage pain for people recovering from hemorrhoid removal. It involved 221 adults who were scheduled for this surgery. Researchers compared the injection to a placebo (a dummy shot) to see if it reduced pain and the need for other pain medications in the days following the operation.
