New implant could offer months of protection from opioid relapse

NCT ID NCT07064564

Summary

This study is testing a new implant called iSTEP-N, which is placed under the skin and slowly releases a medication (naltrexone) to block the effects of opioids. The goal is to see if this implant can maintain protective drug levels for many months, potentially offering an alternative to monthly injections. The study will compare two doses of the implant against the standard monthly injection in healthy volunteers, tracking drug levels and safety for up to a year.
