Can a cholesterol drug prevent heart attacks in rare genetic disorder?
NCT ID NCT06832371
Summary
This study aims to see if the drug lomitapide reduces major heart-related events like heart attacks and strokes in people with a rare, severe form of genetic high cholesterol (HoFH). It will compare the number of these events in 73 patients during their first three years on the drug to the three years before they started it. The goal is to gather real-world evidence on whether this cholesterol-lowering medication helps control the serious heart risks associated with this condition.
