First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at 30 healthy older adults to see if a small brain region called the locus coeruleus (LC) shows early signs of Alzheimer's disease. Researchers used brain scans, sleep tests, and spinal fluid samples to measure LC function, sleep quality, and attention. The goal was to understand how early brain changes might affect sleep and thinking, which could lead to new ways to prevent Alzheimer's.
