Zapping liver margins: a new trick to stop Cancer's return?
NCT ID NCT05492136
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study is testing whether using a radiofrequency device to lightly burn the edges of the liver after tumor removal can reduce the chance of cancer returning at that spot. About 720 adults with liver cancer (either from colorectal cancer spread or primary liver cancer) will be randomly assigned to receive either standard surgery or surgery plus this extra edge treatment. The goal is to see if this simple addition helps keep the cancer away longer.
