New software aims to sharpen Doctors' aim against liver cancer

NCT ID NCT04083378

Summary

This study is testing whether special imaging software can help doctors more accurately target and destroy liver tumors during a procedure called ablation. Patients with up to three liver tumors were randomly assigned to receive either the standard ablation procedure or the standard procedure aided by the new software. The goal is to see if the software helps doctors completely cover the tumor during treatment, which could lead to better long-term control of the cancer.
