Smaller liver grafts could change transplant surgery for portal hypertension
NCT ID NCT07247877
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looks at a new way to do liver transplants for people with severe portal hypertension. Instead of using a full-sized liver, doctors will use a smaller piece (small-for-size graft) and see if it is as safe and works as well as the standard transplant. The study will follow 396 participants to check survival, complications, and whether the high blood pressure in the liver goes away.
