Simple supplements aim to ease dangerous drug side effect in leukemia patients

NCT ID NCT03564678

Summary

This study tested whether two common nutritional supplements could help treat a serious liver side effect caused by certain leukemia medications. It involved adults with acute lymphoblastic leukemia who developed high liver enzymes during treatment. The goal was to see if taking levocarnitine and B vitamins could quickly reduce these liver enzyme levels and allow patients to continue their cancer therapy.
