New push to catch silent liver damage in millions with diabetes

Summary
This study aims to test a new, standardized screening program to find advanced liver fibrosis in people with type 2 diabetes. It will enroll over 1,700 patients seen by private-practice diabetes doctors. The goal is to see if this two-step screening process, which uses a blood test and a special liver scan, helps identify patients with serious liver scarring earlier so they can get the right specialist care.
