Pill aims to speed liver healing in living donors
NCT ID NCT06091787
Summary
This study tested whether a common bile acid pill (ursodeoxycholic acid or UDCA) could help the liver regrow faster and work better after surgery. It involved 90 people who donated the right lobe of their liver for transplantation. Half received the pill for 10 days after surgery, and half did not, to compare liver volume regrowth and function.
