Doctors test if lying on your side vs. your back changes liver pressure readings

NCT ID NCT06994039

Summary

This study aimed to see if a specialized test to measure pressure in the liver's blood vessels gives the same result when a patient lies on their back versus on their left side. Researchers enrolled 30 hospitalized patients with liver cirrhosis to have the pressure measured in both positions. The goal was to understand if the testing position matters, which could help make the procedure easier and safer to perform.
