Heating vs cutting: major trial tests new way to treat liver tumors

NCT ID NCT05129787

Summary

This study aims to find out if using heat to destroy liver tumors (ablation) works as well as surgically removing them for patients whose colorectal cancer has spread. It will randomly assign 230 eligible patients to receive one of these two treatments. The main goal is to see which method better prevents the cancer from coming back in the same spot within a year, while also comparing survival, quality of life, and costs.
