Massive study aims to crack code on dangerous drug reactions

NCT ID NCT05060289

Summary

This study aims to understand why some people develop serious liver damage from medications or herbs while others recover. Researchers will follow 3,000 patients across China to track their recovery, identify which drugs cause the most harm, and find blood markers that can predict who is at highest risk for severe outcomes like liver failure or death. The goal is to create a tool doctors can use to better manage patients with this condition.
