Fatty liver scars may signal hidden heart danger
NCT ID NCT04774302
Summary
This study aimed to understand the connection between fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and the risk of heart disease. Researchers examined 292 patients with NAFLD to see if the amount of scarring in their liver was linked to their risk for heart problems. They used non-invasive scans to measure liver stiffness and check for calcium buildup in heart arteries, which are signs of risk.
