New scan could reveal hidden liver damage from cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT02967848

Summary

This small, early-stage study is testing whether a special type of nuclear medicine scan can accurately measure how radiation therapy affects liver function. It involves 20 adults with liver cancer who are receiving radiation treatment. Researchers will perform the new scan before and after treatment to see if it can detect changes in how well different parts of the liver are working.
